
BACH– ERASMUS PROJECT: Competences in Business Acumen and Communication for Heritage

The BACH project is framed in the context of the Erasmus projects. It is driven by the European need to foster European identity, values, and participation in which the EU has invested heavily.
BACH project acknowledges that operators of heritage structures occupy a crucial position to be a part of this European effort. They may only fulfil this mission if heritage is adequately supported, acknowledged, and made accessible.
The role of cultural tourism is also considered a key in the process of boosting cultural heritage in its different ways.
Competences in Business Acumen and Communication for Heritage is for higher professionalization and business acumen, communication and strategic thinking skills in all the heritage sector
The partners involved in the project are the Greek Cultural Institute (Greece), Casa de Sefarad (Spain) INDECIPE (Spain), QUIOSQ (Netherland), VisMedNet Association (Malta), Heritage Malta, Museon- Omniversum (Netherland), and ANCI Lazio (Italy)
ICN-Artea has been invited as an external company to form part of the pull of experts in the group’s training sessions.
BACH is working on
– A Handbook for professionals in business development of cultural heritage.
– A Toolkit for use when developing business (even if not necessarily for profit) ideas related to heritage spaces and museums that aims at guiding operators measure based on the UN Sustainable Development Goals for 2020. The tools will work closely with the Handbook as an explainer and support material (and therefore also) a source of self-learning adult education for other professionals not participating in the project activities and beyond the project lifetime.

As experts on cultural tourism we are contributing with our know-how and best practices in terms of strategy and management of cultural heritage-
Throughout the years our company has been involved in several European initiatives related to cultural heritage and tourism.
